Sample Reports and Statements
Organisational Heartbeats – Sample
Reports and Questions/Items
Organisational Heartbeats Surveys are
standard survey instruments and cannot be customized in any manner. They contain
three levels of demography – Total organisation response, manager response and
employee response. Reports are automatically generated to reflect these
levels.
Reports:
Each report is eleven pages in
length containing analysis at the overall organisation, manager and employee
level. A written summary is provided at the overall organisation level and
comparison charts between managers and employees and between the organisation
overall and the market are also provided.
Data Summary Table – 3 versions
This table is provided for the total
organisation, employee responses only and manager responses only.
The report title is displayed in the
top left hand line and the total response for that report is displayed in the
top right hand line. The relevant statements for the particular survey are
displayed in the left hand column. The responses are displayed as a frequency
against the five point Likert scale used in data collection both in whole
numbers and percentages for each statement. The figures in the far right hand
Column at line 4 should be read as follows – of the total response of 230 in
this report 80 or 35% of respondents strongly agreed to the statement number
one.
The Likert scale is further
condensed to three bands for analysis purposes in subsequent reports and for
norm data comparisons and are labeled percentage unfavorable, percentage
neutral and percentage favorable. These bands are included in the data summary
table in the second line of the right hand side of the report to provide
clarity on the scaled responses they represent. The bottom right hand line of
the report contains the overall mean statistic for all responses to all
questions. In this example it reads 57.1% representing the overall average response.
This figure is generally more useful when comparing survey to survey results
over time. Changes to this figure provide a gauge of overall movement.
Percentage Favorable, Neutral and Unfavorable
– 3 Versions
This table is provided for the total
organisation, employee responses only and manager responses only.
This stacked bar chart provides a
strong visual to the degree of favorable, unfavorable and neutral responses. It
should always be read in conjunction with the relevant Data Summary Chart. In
this example the chart reports on the Total Organisation and follows on from
the previous example which had a total response of 230 individuals. For statement
one in this example 51% or 118 individuals provided a favorable response, 28%
or 64 individuals provided a neutral response and 21% or 48 individuals
provided an unfavorable response.

Data Comparisons – 3 Versions
Data comparison is provided between
manager responses and employee responses and for market comparison purposes. The
chart below is an example of a market/norm comparison and uses the percentage
favorable response band (see explanation above). In this example the
organisation is considerably below the market norm in respect of statement
number 2 but well above the norm in statement number 4. For further information
on norm data and the statistical process behind its calculation please

The comparison of the manager and
employee response is displayed in a similar chart to the one above but utilizes
the average or mean score response of each group. A final summary page of four
charts is included which displays the percentage favorable, neutral and
unfavorable charts for the total organisation, managers and employees along with
the manager employee comparison on one page.
