Innovation Readiness (IR) Organisational Heartbeats
Innovation can be defined as planned change. Innovation is not necessarily
developing new products - although it sometimes is - but about implementing new
ideas for reducing costs, improving quality, and providing better customer
service. In short, innovation is about the harnessing the creative talents in
your organisation to develop new and better ways of doing things.
The ability to innovate confers a key competitive advantage. Organisations that
fail to innovate may succeed initially, but changing markets and competitive
pressures are ever-present threats to maintaining their market position.
The Organisational Heartbeats Innovation questionnaire consists of ten broadly
phrased questions that explore the three key elements of an innovative culture.
The responses, properly interpreted, give an immediate and valuable insight into
the extent to which your organisation's culture supports innovation, and which
aspects of the culture are hindering innovation. This provides a springboard for
deeper, more targeted exploration, and management action.
It is expected that norm data will be available in summer 2010
